We have found that bringing too many things (especially toys) takes up way too much space. We have been camping for many years now and have dwindled down the toy list. Here are the toys that have made the cut:
-
- Nerf Guns
- Bikes
- Board Games (some of our favorites are: Slamwich, Sequence, Uno, Catan Jr, and Qwirkle)
- Flashlights (for flashlight tag)
- Fox Outfitters Neolite Hammock
- Glow Sticks for Glow in the Dark Ring Toss
- Sidewalk Chalk
- Box of Legos
- Books
- Walkie Talkies
- Paint (don’t freak out just yet, moms — paint is a fun thing to take for rock painting, sponge painting, finger painting, etc)
- IKEA craft paper or a craft paper roll

Girllll… I concur with this entire list! We did find some glow in the dark chalk last year that was super fun!

Ooo! Glow in the dark chalk! Just added it to my Amazon cart to have for the upcoming trip. Great idea!
These pictures are adorable! Not a camper myself, but such a cute post for those that are!
You should so try camping. My husband said he wasn’t a camper either but now loves it! SO, so good for families 🙂
Seems like Nerf guns are the real in thing now so I think we need to invest in a couple of them for trips with our grandkids. Definitely agree that toy lists for travelling should be as short and suitable as possible.
