December is here and we’ve already begun a few of our annual Christmas traditions. I love family traditions and the 25 Days of Christmas Books is one of them.
Starting in mid November, I thumb through our Christmas books (somewhere where the kids won’t see or get into them just yet) and choose which books I want to include in our 25 Days of Christmas Books tradition. I choose several from the bin and then purchase a few new ones each year. I wrap each of the 25 books and then each night in December, the kids unwrap a book and we read it together.
I love creating special memories with my family during the Christmas and Advent season. This is such a simple and easy thing to do and I hope maybe someday they’ll continue the tradition with their kids, too.
You can make this as cheap as you’d like. You don’t have to go out and spend a ton of money on new Christmas books. We have found ours at garage sales, used book stores, on Amazon, Goodwill, and have created quite a collection. I’ve compiled a list of our favorites and want to share them with you. You can view them over in my Amazon shop.
We also have a few favorite Advent books and activity kits we love to use during December. Now, we don’t use all of them each year, but the ones listed below are some of our favorites that we have gone through over the years – this list includes both books and studies for kids and adults.
- Unwrapping the Greatest Gift: A Family Celebration of Christmas
- The Wonder of the Greatest Gift: An Interactive Family Celebration of Advent
- O Come Let Us Adore Him
- Slow and Sacred Advent
- Hidden Christmas
- Unwrapping the Names of Jesus
- The Way to the Manger
- Waiting Here for You
Don’t forget to check out some of our favorite Christmas books. What are some of your favorite Christmas book titles?
