“I’ll praise you in this storm, And I will lift my hands.
You are who you are, No matter where I am.
And every tear I cry, You hold in your hands.
You never left my side, And oh my heart is torn.
I will praise you in this storm.” – Casting Crowns-

Catastrophe. Broken. Empty. Lost.
All these {and more} describe how many are feeling after last week’s storms in Alabama.
My sister and her family live in Tuscaloosa, and praise God they didn’t have any damage and they all are fine. However, not 5 blocks down the road from them, there is hurt, tragedy, and people who don’t know where to turn next.
She has told me numerous stories of those at her church who were affected by the storm. The stories are horrific and break my heart. The one that has me torn apart the most is one of a two year old who was found two days after the storm in the Hobby Lobby parking lot, still alive {praise God!} but has no family to go to because the baby is too young to tell anyone who his mom and dad are. The baby needs love, care, and a mommy especially at this time. But how do they find out who the family members are this this precious, sweet baby?
Savor today. Squeeze your babies. Nurture your husband. Let those you love know how much you appreciate them. You never know what tomorrow may bring.
“Every time I think of you, I thank my God above.” -Philippians 1:3-
