Five RV’s in nine years. We started with a pop-up and are now in our second fifth wheel. We’ve owned everything from a Coleman to a Rockwood, to a Forest River and now Grand Design. We can honestly say Grand Design has already knocked it out of the park compared to the others and we couldn’t be happier with our decision to go with a Grand Design Solitude 3740BH-R. Why? Here are 5 reasons why we chose Grand Design.
- The Floorplan Options: Of all the floor plans out there that we have seen over the years, Grand Design has the best options whether you’re traveling with just a couple of people or have a whole crew (like we do) with you. We wanted something that had the best layout for the bunkhouse in the back of the RV, while still having an ample living area that we could all be in comfortably, and a bigger master bedroom. Our 3740BH-R checked all those boxes, so for our family of 6, this floor plan was a no brainer for us to go with. You can view all the Grand Design floor plans HERE.
- The build, quality, and design are top notch. Like I said earlier, we’ve owned 5 rv’s/campers in the last 9 years and the build of the Grand Design is the best we have seen. They pay attention to detail and that’s a huge thing when you’re buying an RV. You don’t want something you’re going to have to put alot of time and money into to upkeep it or have it always be in the shop. You can read more about their quality and construction HERE. For example, the floors don’t bow under your feet, the residential feel and craftsmanship of the rig makes you feel like you’re in a home, and the rigs are extremely insulated which means it will keep it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
- You instantly become part of the Grand Design family. This was a huge thing for us. We had heard about the community that surrounds Grand Design, but didn’t really knew what that meant until we started looking further into the Grand Design brand. Not only do they back their brand, but they back you as the buyer as well. From rallies all over the country to amazing and helpful Facebook groups, online forums, and customer support – you definitely feel like you’re part of the family the moment you take ownership of your Grand Design rig.
- Grand Design RV’s are SUPER EASY to tow, set up and tear down/hook up to your tow vehicle. The hook ups are easily accessible and are easy to use and understand, towing it (so my husband says) is the easiest and best he’s ever had (and he has towed a lot of trailers in his life), the auto leveling system is amazing and is the easiest to use out of the ones we have had in the past.
- Storage. If you love a good use of space and have a thing for lots of storage, you’ll want to take a look at Grand Design. All of our previous rigs didn’t have enough storage inside or out which was frustrating at times and made things feel cluttered and unorganized (which is a huge pet peeve for me). With our Grand Design, all of our stuff fits and we have lots of room left over. This is HUGE! Every nook and cranny has been utilized whether that’s the cabinetry in the kitchen and living room or under the beds in both the master bedroom and bunkhouse, the outdoor kitchen, or the underbelly (the basement) where you keep all your stuff when traveling.
Of course there are more reasons why we chose Grand Design, but these are our initial top five. We couldn’t be happier to officially be a part of the Grand Design family.
