Every month, I have a list of things I’d like to read that month. In February, I have three books that I’m going to try to get through. I find that my eyes are bigger than my actual read time. But, I am trying to do better at finding time to read, so why not set a goal of three books this month?
Here’s a little peak at what we’re reading this month:
My February Reading Pile:
- Disciple Her by Kandi Gallaty. Written by our Pastor’s wife, this is one I’ve already started reading. Our church is big on discipleship and how important it is. Robby (our Pastor and Kandi’s husband) has written a lot on the topic of discipleship, so when I saw Kandi was coming out with a book about discipleship and women, I knew it was going to be one I had to get my hands on from the get-go. How can women, no matter what stage of life they are in, be a disciple who makes disciples? How can we find time to invest ourselves into others when it feels like our schedules are already full? It’s something I’ve really been pulled at this year — finding time to invest myself into other women. I love that she gives a practical strategy and game plan for implementing this into our daily life.
- I’ll be posting my favorite quotes and more from this book over on my Instagram, if you want to see more about this book.
- The Ministry of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson. This has been on my bookshelf for the longest time and I keep meaning to read it and haven’t just yet. Using biblical wisdom and practical teachings, Sally Clarkson shows how you can make a lasting difference in your child’s life by following the pattern Christ set with his own disciples–a model that will inspire and equip you to intentionally embrace the rewarding, desperately needed, and immeasurably valuable Ministry of Motherhood.
- The Lifegiving Home by Sally Clarkson. Can you tell I think alot of Sally Clarkson? She really is so wise. I love that Sally and her daughter Sarah wrote this together on creating special memories for your children; establishing home-building and God-centered traditions; and cultivating an environment in which your family will flourish. I cannot wait to dig in!
The Younger Kids February Reading Pile:
With it being February, we’re checking out a lot of books from the library on love and Valentine’s Day. My oldest is probably a little too old for most of these books, however, he still enjoys reading the our younger ones and he has a stack of his own books we’ll get to in just a second.
- Saint Valentine by Robert Sabuda
- Bear in Love by Daniel Pinkwater
- Cranberry Valentine by Wende Devlin
- Baby Penguins Love their Mama by Melissa Guion
- Love Is by Claire Keane
- Snowy Valentine by David Petersen
- Bear Hugs by Karma Wilson
- I Love You Already by Jory John and Benji Daviesh
- Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch by Eileen Spinelli
- The Day it Rained Hearts by Felicia Bond
The Older Kids February Reading Pile:
The older kids do more reading as part of their curriculum for school, so it does cut down a little on the easy/fun reading list. However, they have found a few books they just love and are currently reading them this month:
