At the end of every month, I spend time coming up with a meal plan for the next month’s dinners. I sit down with my favorite cookbooks, Pinterest boards, and go to recipes to create a meal plan that will work for our family and the schedule the next month brings. It takes just a little bit of time, but it is so worth it!
If you’re like me, if you don’t meal plan, you end up eating out more than you should. I attended Jolanthe’s session at Teach Them Diligently a few years ago about meal planning and fell in love with her ideas, concept, and printables (yes, they’re even free). I’ve made a few changes to make it work for our family, but I owe her a HUGE thank you for getting me aboard the meal planning train. {if you’re attending a Teach Them Diligently homeschool convention anytime this year, make sure to attend her sessions if you see her on the speaker list} If you haven’t registered for a Teach Them Diligently convention (they’ll be in Atlanta, Nashville, Waco, Denver, Mobile, Sandusky, and Rogers this year), you can register now and save $10 off your registration by using the code MEGHAN19.
I first sit down with the monthly meal planning calendar and fill in the days with what we’re having for dinner. Then each week, I use the weekly meal planning printable to fill in what we’re having for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Oh, and I even use the side of this sheet for my grocery list. I used to cut off the side with the list on it and take it with me to the store.
Now, I use InstaCart (the best thing ever!) to get our groceries each week. It’s even better than Kroger ClickList or something similar where you drive up to the grocery store and they bring the groceries out to you. InstaCart BRINGS your groceries TO YOU and arrives on your doorstep at the scheduled time slot that you chose. If you’ve never tried InstaCart before, you should give them a try for FREE. I also have a discount code you can use for $10 off your first order. Simply put in what you’d like added to your cart, set up a scheduled time for the groceries to be delivered, pay, and get everything else you have to get done that doesn’t involve grocery shopping. It’s that easy! Shop here and use the code MTUCKER3271EA for $10 off your first order!
