Decorate Easter eggs differently this year by using shaving cream and food coloring. If you’re like me, you get tired of the same kits you can buy in the stores. This year, we’re trying out a few different ways to dye Easter eggs. First, we’ll be using shaving cream and food coloring. This fun twist makes a perfect medium for swirly creativity.
Supplies Needed:
- Eggs (you can use hard boiled or the store bought plastic eggs similar to what we picked up at Walmart for super cheap and you don’t waste your eggs from your kitchen. You can purchase them here.
- Food coloring
- Shaving cream – the foamy kind, not the gel. If you’d like – you can swap the shaving cream for whipped cream.
Directions:
- Start with however many eggs you’d like (hard boiled or the store bought white plastic eggs).
- Spray shaving cream into a muffin tin.
- Place several drops of food coloring into each cup. Swirl with a q-tip or a toothpick.
- Gently set eggs in the cups, swirling several times, until completely coated.
- Allow to sit for 10-15 minutes or longer if needed. We usually let them sit overnight.
- Remove eggs and rinse with cold water.
Do you have a favorite way to dye Easter eggs? I’d love to hear!
