Another camping trip is in the books and we loved our visit to Little Beaver State Park in Beaver, West Virginia. This West Virginia State Park is only 6.5 hours away from our home in Nashville, TN, and was such a great trip.
Little Beaver State Park is settled on 562 acres which offers so much family fun no matter the season you plan to visit. I lived in West Virginia during some of my elementary years and the weather is wonderful no matter what time of year you visit. If you visit in the Spring, the weather is beautiful and cool. If you’re visiting in the summer, the weather is usually in the mid 80’s and low to no humidity. Fall, absolutely gorgeous as well. Winter is great if you love snow and to ski / snow tube. West Virginia is one of my favorite states and the weather has a lot to do with it.
The park features nearly 20 miles of trails to explore and an 18-acre lake where you can fish year-round. Stand up paddleboard, kayak, canoe, and paddleboat rentals are available seasonally. However, you can’t bring in your own kayaks or boats. Park visitors can also enjoy biking, hiking, picnicking, and camping at Little Beaver.
The campsites were beautiful at Little Beaver State Park and the campground is open spring through fall, weather permitting. The sites can be reserved online at any time, by phone, or at the campground office. There are 16 camping sites with water hookups and 30 sites with electric and water. The bathhouse is large and clean with hot showers, too. There are also laundry facilities near the bathhouse as well. The Wi-fi / cell service is sketchy but there is Wi-fi access at the camp store. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring and firewood and ice are available at the camp store as well.
We were on site #18 and had the best campsite in the campground. There was a ton of space for the kids to run and explore in the wooded area right next to our site and we loved how private it was. It was a pull-through site which made it easy to get in and out and had plenty of room for our rig, truck, and living space. A few other campsites that we would suggest are: 17, 15, 14, 13, 9, and 7.
We can’t wait to get back to Little Beaver State Park next year and would give this campground a 2 thumbs up. If you’re looking for some camping necessities and must have’s, I’ve linked our favorites HERE or you can click “Amazon Store” in the menu at the top of this page.
