Last week I had the chance to host a great giveaway from Apologia.This week, I have an opportunity to review the book, “Good Morning God”.

Good Morning God by Davis Carman
This delightful children’s book will introduce your little ones to the simple and wonderful ways they can worship God daily. Deuteronomy 6:6–7 tells us to impress His commands on our children’s hearts and talk about them when we sit at home, when we walk along the road, when we lie down, and when we get up. Good Morning, God is a great discipleship tool to help your family do just that. Discussion questions, daily prayers, and activities are included to inspire thoughtfulness and encourage family conversation. Lovingly written and beautifully illustrated, Good Morning, God will help your kids fall in love with their heavenly Father by showing them how He can be the focus of everything they do from sunrise to sunset.

When the book arrived, we dug in. My 5 year old loves reading and he especially loves reading about his Savior. {This book is designed for children age one to eight years old, so this was PERFECT for him! My two year old even loved it}
From Apologia: There are several ways to use this book – 1. As a discipleship tool to accomplish these goals 2. Most basic is to simply read the book as a story. 3. Use it as a study (there are suggested questions at the end of the book you can ask and activities that you can do with your child. 4. Read the book at least once every day from Sunday to the following Sunday. On the first Sunday, you can read the scriptures listed, then have a discussion with your child using the questions for that day. Monday, you can read the book again and ask the questions, read the scripture, and do some or all of the activities for Monday. You can continue this plan for Tuesday through Saturday and the following Sunday. On the second Sunday, you can ask the suggested questions and do the recommended activities listed on the last page of Sunday Questions and Activities. Following this plan would result in reading the book 8 straight days and would basically make the book a mini-curriculum and a literal application of Deuteronomy 6:6-7.
We loved the illustrations in this book. They really are eye catching and show such great detail!
.I asked my son some of the questions that were in this book on the given day we read it. Here are some of his responses.
1. What are some ways you can worship God? “By thanking him, by singing to him songs like “Glory to God”.
2. What is “The Church”? “A place where you learn about God.”
3. Whom do you look forward to seeing in heaven? “Jesus and God. Also, Joe (my husbands father).”
We’ve now read through the entire book and it’s definitely a new favorite in our library. {He also was a huge fan of the coloring book.}
I hadn’t ever really checked out Apologia and their products, but now, we will definitely be ordering and adding Apologia to our homeschool curriculum.
