I found these on Pinterest and LOVED how sweet they looked. They turned out even better than I had expected.
I picked up 4 canvases from JoAnn’s last week. There were so many choices for paint, that was the hardest part. Finally, after several hours (no really, it seemed that long!) I picked 4 different colors of paint, picked up some paint brushes and was on my way out the door.
After laying down the newspaper, I painted each canvas a different color and let it sit for about an hour while I made lunch.
Then, we all gathered around and put different colors of paint on our hands. I corresponded the paint colors. You’ll see the blue and green’s go together as well as the yellow and reddish-orange. Both boys did both hands and then I let the canvases dry for another hour.
Once they were dry, I hung them in my sitting area in my kitchen. I think they turned out so well! Such sweet little hands – and something I know I’ll cherish forever.

Oh! Those are so cute! So much nicer than the palm imprint in plaster (although that is fun too!). Love it!

I adore this project! Have to figure out exactly how I want to tweak it for my own family!

That is very colorful. I wish I had done this when my kids were really young–then do a “now” print. Love the colors you used and how you reversed them!

Those are precious…what a cute way to preserve a moment in your children’s lives and how fun it will be for them to compare their hands as they grow!

That is so cool. We did something similar a couple of years ago as a gift to my mil. I had each of my boys place a handprint in the corner of a canvas that they had painted. Once this little girl arrives, I’m going to try and get something similar done for myself.
Thanks for the beautiful reminder to capture those memories of when they are little!

These are so sweet! Handprints are really like a moment in time that you are able to freeze. It seems like our hands are something that always changes. Your hand grows as a kid, as an adult – more wrinkles, and different textures with different jobs.
