I first saw Glo a couple of years ago and thought it looked really interesting but, because we are Mac people and Glo was, at that time, only for PC I never had the chance to look at it in depth. Since that time, Glo’s developers have released both Mac and iOS versions that bring it into the fold of the Apple ecosystem.
Over the past several weeks, I’ve spent time using the full versions of both the Mac and iPad versions of Glo and I have to say that I am really impressed. Glo creates a digital home base from which to read and study the Bible in a way that balances simplicity, ease-of use, and design with depth and scholarship. It uses the concept of different ‘lenses’ through which to view and search scripture along with all photos, video, and the Atlas that Glo includes. I found that Glo gave me a much more immersive study experience than I have previously experienced by integrating a broad array of easily accessible media to provide context and understanding. I particularly liked both the integrated and cross-referenced timeline ‘lens’ along with the topical ‘lens’ that operates in a similar way to a tag cloud.
While Glo is easy to approach and use immediately, there is a bit of a learning curve. I would suggest giving the free ‘lite’ iOS and desktop versions a spin to familiarize yourself with the platform before purchase. Information about both are available at www.globible.com
It’s also important to note that when you buy the premium version of Glo (currently on sale for $69.99) you’re buying a license that is useable on up to five devices. This means that you could be using Glo (for example) on your Macbook, Desktop PC, and 3 iOS devices and only pay for one license.
Whether you’re a new Christian, a long-time believer, or even in full-time ministry – Glo has something for everyone. It is a well conceived and actively developed tool that I recommend whole-heartedly.

This would be so great to have! I’ve been looking at it for awhile thinking about it. I think it is a great way to make the Bible come even more alive and help put everything together. Thanks!
I love how it brings the Bible to life and could be a great tool for helping make easier for our kids to understand time lines, life in Bible times, give them a visual of Biblical places, etc.

we relate all our history and geography to the Bible – this could go a long way toward making it more memorable for my 3 boys!
I have been looking at this software for awhile and am excited about the possibility of winning it. I think it would really make the Bible grow for my kids.
I tweeted the giveaway.
I would so love to win this. My husband just finished seminary. We’ll be paying his school off for years to come. We’ve been living on just the basics for the last few years and that won’t change any time soon. The only way we could have a treat like this Bible would be if I won it!
