I’m so excited to have Jill Hart from Christian Work At Home Mom as a guest blogger today! You can also find Jill on Twitter @cwahm and on Facebook
Not long ago I was asked why some work-at-home moms succeed while others fail. What a tough questions! I pondered this for quite a while and eventually came to the conclusion that we think it boils down to two things:
1.) Working Through Discouragement – Successful entrepreneurs know to expect discouragement at times. We believe the difference between those who succeed and those who don’t is seeing through the discouragement to the other side and continuing on in business even when things look bleak. We all have times when business is slow or when something doesn’t work out the way we expected. Success comes from working through these times and not letting them defeat you.
2) Overcoming Insecurity – Just like Beth Moore acknowledged with her last book (So Long, Insecurity), we women have a tendency to struggle in this area. No matter what form of work you do from home insecurities can rise to the surface – and in business this can be detrimental. The women who can stare insecurity in the eye and work through it are the women who will succeed in whatever they set their minds to.
My last thought on those-who-succeed vs. those-who-don’t is that many times we follow paths that God has not directed us down. We must seek Him above all else to find true success.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
