Hate using the cleaners from the store but need some new ideas on how to make homemade cleaners? Here are some that will rock your socks. From the smell, to how well they clean, you’ll be amazed!
1. Toilet Bowl Cleaner:
1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup white vinegar
5-10 drops Tea Tree essential oil
Combine all ingredients in a quart-size container. You’ll be amazed at how fun this is to mix together.
2. Mirror Cleaner:
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup water
8 drops citrus oil {lemon, wild orange, lime, grapefruit}
Mix all ingredients in a plastic bottle and shake well before use. Spray onto mirror and wipe with a dry cloth. This also prevents fogging while the shower is running.
3. Bathroom/Shower Cleaner: {got this idea from Martha Stewart}
1 tsp. of liquid soap
several drops of an antibacterial essential oil {like tea treat, eucalyptus, rosemary, or peppermint}
1 cup baking soda
water
Add 1 tsp of the liquid soap and several drops of the essential oil to one cup of baking soda. Add just enough water to form a paste and use it with a sponge or brush to make your bathtub/shower surface squeaky clean!
4. Carpet Stain Remover:
ammonia
hot water
white towel
iron
Fill an empty spray bottle with 1 part ammonia and 1 part hot water, spray it very liberally on the stain and lay a clean white towel on top of it and iron! Yep, that’s right, iron your little heart out. You’ll see the stain disappear within seconds!
5. All Purpose Cleaner:
orange peals
canning jar
vinegar
Fill an empty canning jar with orange peels and vinegar. Let sit for 3-5 days and pour into a spray bottle. Makes the best all purpose cleaner and smells delish!

Thanks so much! I’ve been thinking about doing this for so long, but never took the plunge. You make it seem doable. Thank you! I already have all of these ingredients; I just need to pick up some empty spray bottles and I’m ready to clean. 🙂 Lisa~
