It’s that time of year when people are starting to get back into a school routine and summer is coming to a close. However, there is still time to make a weekend trip to the Smoky Mountains. There are lots of places to stay in the Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg area. Wilderness of the Smokies is a resort in which you don’t need to venture out of the hotel to find adventure, fun, and activities.
Wilderness at the Smokies is Tennessee’s largest indoor water park resort. Not only is it an indoor water park resort, the outdoor water park is amazing!

- The Wild Vortex loop slide stands 66 feet tall and is the only near vertical, translucent, looping waterslide in the Southeast. Riders enter a capsule at the top of the ride, standing vertically over a trap door; is released, the rider accelerates into a 39 foot vertical free fall drop.

- Wilderness Rapids, a 12,000 square foot wave pool
- Private Poolside Cabanas

Wild Waterdome Indoor Waterpark at River Lodge:
The Wild WaterDome indoor waterpark, which opened in December 2009, is the largest attraction of it’s kind in the Smoky Mountains. Attractions in this indoor waterpark include:

We are celebrating my oldest son’s 10th birthday in the Smokies in a few weeks so this would be perfect!! Although the waterslides all look like tons of fun we probably couldn’t do much in the water due to chemical allergies so I’m guessing the indoor stuff would be a huge hit with us. What a great giveaway!
