Chippy white paint. I just love to see things with chippy paint in a home. We’ve had a big, heavy, 4 poster wooden bed in our room for almost 6 years. It’s a beautiful bed but I’ve never been too happy with the way it looks in our master bedroom.
Last week, we finally took the bed down because it was making the room feel so cramped and dark. I would walk in our master bedroom and immediately would want to rearrange or get rid of things because it looked too dark and crowded. We figured it was the bed and took that sucker down. It looked like a completely different room just from taking the bed down.
I saw a screen door at a local antique shop and had to have it. At just $35, I couldn’t pass it up. It was chippy white and was just perfect for my new headboard. I threw that sucker on HOLD until my husband could come back to see it and he loved it just as much as I did.
We put two coats of Satin Polyurethane to make sure the chipping wouldn’t come off onto the wall or our bed and threw that sucker up on the wall as our headboard. I love, love, love how it turned out. Don’t you?
There’s so many fun things you can use an old screen door for. An adorable pantry door, headboards, a table. The ideas are endless. Check out my Farmhouse Style Pinterest board.
Such a cheap and easy project which turned our room into something new. Now, I don’t feel the need to paint the room an off white color like we were about to do. This headboard lightens the room so much! I’d love to hear some of your favorite tips on decorating with chippy white decor.
