It’s the first edition of Friday Favorites for the new year and I’m excited to be working on our 2021 camping schedule. I have it all pretty much planned out and am just waiting to finalize a few last details for a trip or two this year. But first, let’s chat a little about our favorite campgrounds.
I think if I had to choose just 5 of our favorite campgrounds, I’d choose the following:
- Great Smokies KOA in Townsend, TN. This was our first campground to ever camp at as a family almost ten years ago and it still is one of our top favorites. You can read a full review of this campground in a post I wrote HERE.
- Cumberland Mountain State Park.
- Desoto State Park
- Elkmont Campground in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park
- Fort Mountain State Park in Georgia
Now, there are campgrounds that we have on our list to visit someday, but these are my favorite places to camp within a few hours of Nashville.
Where are we camping in 2021?
CreekFire Resort in Savannah, Georgia
Monte Sano State Park in Alabama
David Crocket State Park in Tennessee
Great Smokies KOA in Townsend, TN
Amish Country in Ohio — waiting to hear back on a reservation for this
Mackinaw City, Michican – right next to the island
Mama Gertie’s in Asheville, NC
Fort Mountain State Park in Georgia
Little Beaver State Park in West Virginia – I also wrote a review about this campground this past year. You can find it HERE.
Little Arrow in Townsend, TN
…and a couple other trips are planned – just waiting to hear back. I’ll share them here once we have it planned.
You can check out all our favorite camping gear and must have’s over in my Amazon Shop.
