The 2,882 room hotel announced today the new shows and family-friendly attractions that guests will be able to experience at this year’s 32nd annual A Country Christmas, which opens on November 20th and runs through January 2, 2016.
With 2.3 million holiday lights have twinkled at Gaylord Opryland Resort in the past. This year? They’re adding even more.
More than 2 million pounds of ice blocks have been ordered for the resort’s popular ICE attraction, which is back with a new theme. Artisans from Harbin, China will hand-carve colorful, larger-than-life ice sculptures and two-story ice slides that illustrate scenes from the holiday classic, “The Nutcracker”. We love going to ICE! each year. Last year’s ICE! was our favorite so far.
The Arctic Plunge Snow Tubing attraction and Glacier Glide Ice Skating are back again this year as well. This was my kid’s favorite part of A Country Christmas last year.
The Rockette’s have had shows during the past holiday seasons here in Nashville, but this year, there’s something new. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical. It will be at The Grand Ole Opry House next door to the resort. This will be something you definitely want to attend with the entire family!
Also new for 2015 is The Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt. Ten of Santa’s special scout elf helpers will be landing at Gaylord Opryland, but they won’t be able to fly to the North Pole until they have names. By finding the scout elves hiding in the resort and solving puzzles, families will reveal the elves’ names so they can report back to Santa.
