This recipe was given to me by Joe’s aunt. Why do I love this apple pie so much? Because it’s so easy and still has that yummy homemade taste.
*Ingredients*
- 2 frozen pie crusts
- 6 cups apples, cored, peeled, and thinly sliced
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 T. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 2 T. lemon or lime juice
- pinch of salt
- 2 T. hard butter
*Directions*
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees and thaw one of the frozen pie crusts.
- Combine all ingredients except the crust.
- Place all ingredients in the frozen crust. Put 2 T. hard butter on top of ingredients. Top with the thawed crust and seal the edges.
- Make 4-5 slits on top of pie.
- Cover the edges of crust so it doesn’t burn.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
