Last week my oldest son had a project for his homeschool co-op to make a planet. He was assigned Saturn, so we got to work on our planet. This easy, fun, quick project is one anyone can do. Even the most non-creative, un-artistic mom {like myself} will be impressed with how it turns out.
What You’ll Need:
an old record
paint & paintbrushes
styrofoam ball
hot glue gun & glue sticks
What You’ll Do:
1. Paint each “area” on the record {within the lines} a different color, on the front & back of record. These are it’s “rings”.
2. Paint the styrofoam a yellow color – this will be the round part of the planet. Then cut in half. {one half of the ball for each side of record}
3. Using a hot glue gun, glue the halves to each side.
I told you it was super easy. We looked up 4 facts on Saturn and called it a Science project. My son had so much fun with this and is already asking if we can make another planet soon.
