On The Homeschool Front - Meghan Tucker

Jackson is really doing well with Pre-K this year. I cannot believe the school year is half way through. Wow, time flies.

This past week he made his yearly Thankful tree. We traced his hands (which he always loves because it tickles) and cut out the handprints. We made a tree and glued it to cardstock then wrote what he was thankful for on each leaf (handprint). He sure came up with some great ones this year, and a few random ones as well, like Giraffes and Deer. None the less, it was his and what he was thankful for at that moment, and that is what makes it so special.

We are working our way through the Alpha Omega Horizons lessons. I am so grateful for the Horizons curriculum for Pre-K. It really is great for all subjects and definitely prepares the 3, 4, and 5 year old for Kindergarden. I definitely would recommend it to anyone looking for Pre-K curriculum.

Recently, he also learned about “Stop, Drop, & Roll”. He had no idea what this was and figured it was just another way for him to be active. 🙂 After explaining what it meant and having him practice, he gets it and it makes me feel so good to know that he understands it, should there ever be an emergency that requires him to do this. This is one of the basic things we need to teach our children but honestly, I totally forgot he should know this and have failed to teach it to him before this lesson. Alpha Omega definitely touches all the bases on concepts preschoolers should know.
