When I first heard that it was a private island, it sounded oh so luxurious. The weeks got closer to us leaving for our trip and I will be honest, I got a little nervous on what we were going to do for a full week on a private island. Usually when we travel, we like to go and do. I was questioning if I could really sit for a week on an island.
The answer? Yes.
The Rooms
The rooms are so cozy and cute. We stayed in the Ocean View Deluxe Rooms and it was perfect! Located on the lower level of the Ocean View Cottages, each deluxe room is 384 square feet, and features French doors that open up to a private patio with sun loungers and a cozy seating area. All rooms are air-conditioned, have ceiling fans, king size beds, armoires, a desk and two comfortable reading chairs with ottomans. Luxury amenities such as waffle robes, Natura Bisse bathroom products, a mini bar stocked with select complimentary beverages, iPod alarm clocks and ice service twice daily complement the room. The newly renovated bathrooms feature an oversize vanity, large stand alone soaking tub and a large walk in shower, with design touches such as a pebble shower floor and wooden louvered windows. It’s definitely perfect for a couple.
The Food
The food was amazing! So amazing that my husband gained 4 pounds this week. We aren’t used to eating 3 HUGE meals a day. One thing I must say. Definitely get the meal plan. It’s definitely worth it. We had the Full American Plan and it covered everything. We don’t drink so we didn’t have the drink package. But, tea and water were a part of it as well. The mini bars in the room are complimentary too, so if you’re craving a Diet Coke like I was occasionally, you could get one from your refrigerator in your room.
Tradewinds Restaurant – this is where breakfast and dinner are each day.
Deadman’s Beach Bar & Grill – this is where we had lunch each afternoon.
Drake’s Lounge – a bar near the pool which also serves a light lunch each day.
Private Beach Dining – how romantic!
Must See & Things To Do
The Spa. I don’t need to say much other than make sure you enjoy this amazing Spa while you visit. I’ve had many a pedicure before and this one takes the lad for sure! I have heard the massages there are so great as well.
Sunset Loop. I admit, I’m not one of those girls who LOVES to watch the sunset. Sure, its great occasionally, but it’s not something I find myself wanting to do too often. When I first heard we were going to this place called “Sunset Loop”, I tried to get out of it and change my husband’s mind. Let me say, I’m so glad we went! It was amazing! Definitely make this part of your trip. From 5pm to 6:30pm every evening, watch a true BVI sunset from the most beautiful point on Peter Island. They drop you off with a fruit and cheese platter and leave you to watch the sunset over the stunning backdrop of the BVI.
