I’m so excited to be able to review the Alpha Omega Horizons Preschool Curriculum this year! Over the next 6-9 months, I’ll be reviewing our preschool year using this curriculum. My son is 4.5 years old and is so excited to actually call himself a preschooler! (Cute!)
I’ve looked all over the internet and have chatted with friends about curriculum. The one I heard the most was Alpha Omega. So, I did a little more research and got to know Alpha Omega better. Their site is amazing! It’s easy to manipulate your way around, and so helpful! Whether you are looking for curriculum for your preschooler or 12th grader, Alpha Omega has you covered. Even if you aren’t sure where to start or if you want to go with A.O., their support and team is fantastic. Ryan Egen has been a great help in learning more about Alpha Omega. He is the social media specialist for the company and does great at his job!
Ok- now on to the review…I’m so excited!
I was out running errands on Saturday afternoon and my husband told me the box from Alpha Omega arrived. Right then, I got the butterflies in my stomach. I had been so anxious to get the curriculum and put my hands on it and to just spend time checking it out. So, the day finally arrived and it came while I was out running errands – not only that, but I wasn’t going to be home until late. The entire day I kept looking online at the Horizons website while I was out running my errands, looking over what was already at my house. I thought I’d be home in time to dig into it, but I came home and crashed instead.
Fast forward about 12 hours – imagine Christmas morning for a little kid. Thats how I felt when I opened the box.
I went to school to be an Elementary teacher so this kind of thing gets my heart beating. I knew I’d be getting a couple of teachers guide books, a resource book for my little preschooler, but NEVER did I imagine the amount of content to be this great.
One of my favorite parts of the entire set is the hard box that all the books, CD’s, and guides fit into. I was expecting to have to buy yet another Rubbermaid bin at Target but it has a great and sturdy box to keep all of the curriculum inside when you aren’t using it. For someone who loves organization and keeping things tidy, this is right up my alley!
Below you’ll see images of what was included in this set. There were two student books, 2 teachers guides, a music CD, and a HUGE packet of resource pages. The resource pages are finding a new home tonight in a new, clean binder.
Over the next few days, I’m going to be spending all my free time planning. Planning our lessons, our activities, our memory verses, etc. I’m looking forward to an amazing year with my preschooler thanks to Alpha Omega!
I hope you follow me in documenting my experience using this curriculum. It is my hope that it will benefit you and help you decide if this is the route you need to take with your preschooler. Homeschooling is such a rewarding experience for both parent and child and I’m anxious to embrace this year.
