Adding Valentine’s Day decor to your home doesn’t have to be complicated and it definitely doesn’t have to cost a lot. Show the love by keeping it sweet and simple.
The most I decorate for any holiday or season is obviously Christmas. However, I do change things up quite a bit in our home and I definitely bring out some festiveness each season. You don’t need to add a lot of decor to make your home feel festive during whatever season it may be.
For Valentine’s Day, I do the following things and it’s just the right amount of decor to make it feel like home, yet festive.
Don’t over-do the red and pink that comes with Valentine’s Day. While those are great colors, if you add to much of it, it looks cluttered and not put together well. Stick to neutrals with colors such as khaki, white, light grey’s and then add in red and pink accents with your Valentine’s Day decor. A lot of time if your decor style is already clean and simple with muted colors, it’s easy to add in these touches of pink and red.
It’s also ok not to add red and pink and still decorate for Valentine’s Day. That is what I do. I’m not a huge red and pink fan, so I try to stay away from the colors. You can see how I simply styled our mantle for Valentine’s Day.
Simple, yet just the right touch of decor to make it stand out for the season is what I go for.
