Montgomery Bell State Park:
We usually camp here at least once a season. We have our favorite shady spots that are on the creek. When we camp here, we only reserve those spots because they’re our favorite. However, many others like this campground as well so you definitely need to book several months to a year in advance.

Cumberland Mountain State Park:
We love East Tennessee. It’s some of the prettiest country you’ll see, which is why we love Cumberland Mountain so much. When we camp here, we take our kayaks with us and always enjoy using them on the lake. The campsites are a great size, lots of shade, and great for bike riding. We have camped here quite a few times and always keep it at the top of our list of favorites.

Standing Stone State Park:
Another East Tennessee beauty. Although we have only camped at this park once, we loved our weekend there! We went in the Fall and the leaves were gorgeous during that mid October weekend.

Old Stone Fort State Park:
Located just about an hour south of Nashville, this state park is very convenient for those in the Nashville area. We have only camped here once, but we liked many parts of this park including the great flat road for kids to ride their bikes, and the amount of shade. We also liked that you aren’t on top of your camper next door – the campsites have a pretty good distance between each other.

We were just talking about going camping somewhere! I’ll have to check these out. I have only driven through Tennessee on our way to Disney but have always wanted to plan a trip to see all of the State’s beautiful views!

So sad that I live way too far from these places! They look amazing for camping!
