Another week has passed in our Kindergarten journey. And it’s been another fun one!
In My Life This Week…
I got to go hear Katie Davis from Amazima Ministries speak yesterday. Oh my, this is one amazing girl. She makes me want to be a better person. Her love for the country of Uganda makes me miss it {my sister lived there for 6 years and we went to visit her Christmas 2006}. Katie is 22 years old and has 13 Ugandan daughters…yes, she’s adopted all 13. Read more about her life in Uganda on her blog. She has written an amazing book – you need to get a copy. You will be moved.
In Our Homeschool This Week…
Our memory verse was Psalm 121:2. It was neat to watch my son apply this verse to everyday life. When he had frustrating moments throughout the week, I asked him to remember his verse. He’d then recite it to himself quietly and instantly he was happier….LOVE watching the Lord work through my children.
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…
Go on a nature walk. Fall is the best time of year for this. There aren’t many mosquitos to bother you, you don’t sweat your little heart out from the heat, and nature is even more beautiful. Talk about what colors the leaves are, have your children build a leaf pile and jump in it, discuss what the animals are doing in the fall to prepare for hibernation and winter, the ideas could go on and on. My two year old had a blast picking up leaves this week…
