We are so close to my favorite month of the year, December. I find comfort in the coziest and smallest things during this month - the twinkling lights, carols playing, soft blankets, crackling fireplaces, kids home from college and everyone under one roof, warm mugs, Christmas movies, and baking our favorite treats.

If you’re like me, you hold onto a Christmas card each year that you send them out. I love this little wood card holder and have it laying out in our living room so we can relive the memories made over the years. This is also a great gift idea. 🎄🎁🎄

If you’re looking for simple and delicious recip

If you’re looking for simple and delicious recipe, Poor Man’s Lasagna, is your new go to.

Recipe is listed below.

INGREDIENTS:
1 pound of pasta (we use penne)
1 pound of ground beef
1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
16 ounces of cottage cheese
8 ounces of cream cheese, softened
One jar of pasta (24-30 oz)
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese

DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350° and boil the pasta according to the instructions on the box.
2. Brown the ground beef into small pieces as it cooks. Then, stirring the Italian seasoning before the meat is finished cooking.
3. Drain the ground beef if you’d like and set aside.
4. Drain the pasta and return to the pot. While the pasta is still warm, and the cream cheese and cottage cheese and gently stirring until combined
5. Layer and 9 x 13 pan or two 8 x 8 pans with a little pasta sauce on the bottom of the pan, then half of the pasta mixture, and then the pasta sauce.
6. Then, repeat.
7. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until it bubbles in the middle of the pan.

It’s a question we have been asked and in the moment of getting everyone’s outfits together and fixing everyone’s hair, I too am asking the question, “Why are we taking family photos every year?” 🤪

It’s always so worth it in the end. What a treat it is to look back over the years to see how everyone’s grown and funny memories we have from each photo session.

A couple of weeks at the beach each fall is one of my favorite family traditions. The cool mornings and warm afternoons on the beach, playing bocce ball and fishing at sunset, eating at all our favorite restaurants, and crab hunting after dark. It’s all pretty special.

This trip was another one of those “firsts” - the moments that I’ve talked about before that take some getting used to once you drop your oldest off at college. It was our first trip ever without him. We missed him so much and so wished it had worked out for him to join us for a few days, but we are all reminding ourselves to find joy in every season, even the ones that are new and are “firsts” to us. But, you better believe we are counting down the days till we get to see @iamjacksontucker again soon.
